That’s NOT my Dragon!

NotMyDragonJuly07.jpg
You must understand that the fair dragon pictured is not, in fact, Izzue Rain’s Dragon. No, that dragon’s scales are simply too slimy. Thus the search goes on. We at Wendago.com will try to keep you posted as the hunt continues.

I’m told she favors her father. I’m told that’s me. But oddly enough I just don’t see the resemblance. I do see her mother in her. Young Izzie already likes to move to the beat of her own drumset. She considers bottles alien, finds sippy cups repulsive but adores a good ol’ fasioned straw. Works for me.

As the 4th drew near we had plans of tooling south for a Tom/Patricia party in Malibu. The Loreys also had their annual gathering in Calabasas which we would have probably crashed, if nothing else for the meatballs. But my sister, Arinne, and her hubby, Tim, had been traveling across country and stopped in to spend some time with the Farmers. We gave them the full tour of the area. And them what’s interested can click the pic above to see the story at IzzieRain.

Alien Pig Farm 3000 has officially completed its maiden voyage. Well, until the trade comes out in couple months. And, of course, there’s also San Diego’s Comicon coming up, but I’ll come back to that. But I would like to thank everyone for the great support, emails and IMs. A big shout goes out to Blake and Brenna for running a banner at Fridaythe13thfilms. On some level I would hope that the banner may have had played some small part in Friday’s ultimate downfall. For them what don’t know, Blake and Brenna have run Fridaythe13thfilms for going on 47 years. Recently the site crash and the pair decided to let her rest. Unlike Jason, the website would NOT be retuning. Of course, I saw that some bonehead has taken over the site. Eh…just won’t be the same without you two.

Our journey’s to the ocean and beyond continue. We stopped off in the park last week for some frizbee with Jacob, Holly and Duran.
DuranRidesJuly07.jpg
Duran is approaching one year. He’s walking circles around young Izzie Rain. Duran’s a cool cat. He likes strolling, running blindly into the woods and sniffing hair. His father describes him as the McFly from Charlie’s Angels who rips out your hair then sniffs it.

For the most part Izzie was bored during the whole adventure. I am now more convinced than ever that she is, in fact, a cylon in waiting. She sits quietly, observes and plans our future destruction.

David and Erica Handman stopped by on their journey up the coast. David was the editor on Jason X and was just nominated for an Emmy for his work on The Path to 911. We, of course, put them to work the moment they arrived as the five of us made the trip along the ocean to Cannery Row.

We had a blast, caught up on old times and broke fish at the Bubba Gump’s. There’s no argument that we live in a beautiful paradise but the downside is that we rarely get to see our LA friends. That alone is reason enough to consider the move back.
Friday Ghost House made an offer for me to write a movie for them. Once the lawyers are finished doing battle then I will report more on this…but if all works out then it might lead to our relocating back to the Los Angeles area. We’ll see how it goes.

Meanwhile, back in the batcave, Dean Lorey patiently awaits the arrival of his first novel, NIGHTMARE ACADEMY, which hits the shelves in 29 days. If the kids have anything to do with it then the book should be a monster. He recently recieved a stack of incredible reviews from assorted children across the states. Click the pic above then head over to his blog for a report.
Big shout goes out to young Chris Lorey for successfully achieving year ten. And it should be noted that his warrior is level 44. When I see him online I must avoid the urge to find the group he’s playing with and inform them one by one, “Yes, you might find it interesting to know that it is a ten year old leading your adventures.”
The trip to LA is for reason’s of business. I’m meeting with two producing companies and director on a (for now) unnamed remake. I’m normally not a fan of the remake. I’m a fan of originals, but this remake is from the 40s and screams modern thriller. It’s down to me and one other writer. One of the producing companies is pulling for me. The other producing company actually manages the other writer. Should be interesting.
After the meeting I’ll be crashing at the Lorey’s.

The following morning will find me on the road to San Diego where I’ll be crashing at Tim Bradstreet’s for the night. He and I are joining forces on a project that he’s been nurturing for 16 years. We figured we’d get some work done before Comicon gets rolling the following day. Click the above pic for more details.

Once at Comicon, I’ll be spending my downtime bouncing between the RAW booth, Spiegel Fine Arts booth and working from the hotel.

So that will be a full week away from my girls. Not a fan. We had planned on this being young Izzie Rain’s first Comicon but with my pre-meetings in LA that means driving and that translates to 10 hours of young Izzie being locked into a car seat. Just not gonna happen.
As for now, I’m off to start packing.
