Demonik to Developers

I’m going in this week with Tiger Hills’ Brad and Lori to pitch Demonik to a number of game developers. The original design team will be there and I hear they are bringing an XBox and a demo of the game they designed a year ago. That should be cool.
At first Lori sent me an email informing me about the meeting and they’d love it if I could come. Then today she asked if I would be prepared to pitch the game. The first two meetings are tomorrow! That knucklehead should have given me some warning. No worries though. I’ll be ready.

Olga the goddess

I’ve hired Olga, Sarah’s roommate, to design a web site for me. I’ve been thinking about it for a long time. Perhaps one day I’ll post these stupid ramblings.

Lasic

Mel went in to have an exam to see if she is a candidate for Lasic eye surgery. They ran so many tests that I had to take a cab and go pick her up and bring her home. She was blind as a bat.

Last Vamp at Sci-Fi

Met Mike and Frank VonZerneck at a cafe before the Sci-Fi meeting. I sort of did a run down of what I’d say and how I usually pitch and then we went up and did the usual wait-fifteen-minutes thing. There are exceptions but you can nearly always count on the fact that a meeting will start fifteen minutes late.
Mike and Frank chatted a bit then I jumped into the pitch. I did my thing. That’s all I can do. I took about fifteen minutes. Narcosis was the exception but normally I give the first act pretty detailed, fly through the second act then punch the third act. This being a four hour mini was different. I gave a very detailed night one. Then blew through night two. Partly because I honestly didn’t have night two completely figured out but then the story is so complex it would have been tough to figure it out without actually diving into the trenches and writting script pages.
Overall, they seemed very receptive. Not only that but they seemed excited that I was interested. That’s a new concept for me but I guess coming from the threatrical world that is normal.
The top exec in the room, who’s name I can’t recall at the moment, had some very interesting notes. As a matter of fact he had some great notes. Notes I think he had before I even went in. Notes I wish I’d been given because I could have incorporated them into the pitch. But if this thing goes further I’ll use them.
Not sure what happens now. I assume if they liked it then I’ll go back in and pitch a room of even bigger dogs. But after the meeting both Mike and Frank were going to proceed as if this were a done deal.
