Lilith, Mom-in-Law and Hogwarts

Yesterday was my phone call with Eric and Nina from Sci-Fi concerning the treatment. Night and day from the last meeting. Night One is solid in their eyes but they had some suggestions and/or concerns about night two. Mostly character stuff. Stuff I would have dealt with in script form. You know the drill, every scene should dive the plot forward and while doing so we should constantly be learning more and more about our characters through their decisions. Michael was on the phone and jumped in a couple of times. He was concerned that at least one of their suggestions would require a complete restructuring of Night Two…and that wasn’t far from the truth. But I know how to do it. Least I think I do. I’ll know more when I actually dive into the trenches.

I spoke with Whitley at length after the call. He’s in town and as the mid-month will be moving to LA for a temporary three to six month stay for the shoot. We chatted about “The Day After Tomorrow” and “Communion” and overall I gotta say the guy is a class act. I’m really looking forward to his living out here.
Shortly after that Melanie’s Mom called to say she was playing Heroes so I logged on and joined her. When Mel got home from her English Horse Riding class she joined us.

From left to right…yours truly, AKA Holy Ghost. That’s Mel’s mom in the middle, AKA Palas. And Melanie on the right, AKA IceCream.
I’m heading out the door to pick up Devin. He’s gonna help me find the port on the ol’ Linksys to allow Quake II play and he’s got a gig or so he wants to download using our DSL. Out in the boonies dial-up is their only option.
I would say that Devin will most likely drive the Audi at one point in preparation of his upcoming driving test, but I won’t. Because that would be wrong. Against the law even. And I’m pretty sure his father knows how to read this journal.
Around noon the three of us are meeting Dean and Elizabeth and Chris and we’re heading to Hogwarts. Back here for some more hacking then I’ll take Dev to his swim training. Tonight he and his parents will meet us for food and drink.
It’s gonna be a good day.

Great movie, but…

I think this is simply a Hollywood thing but I’m getting tired of it. You talk to someone about a movie and there is always a “but”. What is the deal? “I loved that move but…” then they go on to list all the things they found wrong with the flick. I guess it is an occupational hazard. We Hollywood idiots need to address our brilliance at any and every opportunity. It’s a glass half empty state.
First off, nothing is perfect. If you look long enough at a coffee cup you’ll find a chip or discoloration. And at the end of the day movies are simply intellectual opinion. There is no right and wrong. There is only opinion.
And out here there are but two opinions.
I hated it…behold my omnipotent reasoning.
I loved it but here’s how I could have made it better.
What’s sad? I find myself starting to do it. I suck.

Wonderful World of Gaming

The cast of characters:
FyreBug.jpg
Fyre Bug. A blaster. He fights with fire. He flies…slowly. He’s heroic but impatient to fight all that is evil. Nah, that’s not right. He’s just impatient.
Maryanne.jpg
Maryanne. A Tanker. Tough as nails. Beat on her all day long and she’ll rarely bleed. She carries an Axe…a big Axe. She knows how to use it. Her only drawback is a bad knee which forces her to turn slowly.
Horseman.jpg
The Horseman. A controller. He keeps the other two alive with a natural ability to heal. Not too shabby with a sniper power he obtained from the Nether world. He’s grumpy with a smart mouth. Few will tolerate him for long.
FyreMary2.jpg
The task should have been routine. A cleaning mission. Enter the sewers and make dead those known as the Vahzilok.
FyreMary1.jpg
There were so many…too many. The heroes acted stupidly…thinking they could wipe the world clean on ego alone.
Marydeath.jpg
The Death of Maryanne. The Horseman cursed. Fyre Bug wept.
MaryReborn.jpg
An ancient power, spat on by many a man of the cloth. The Horseman cast a spell and thus was the rebirth of Maryanne.
Fight.jpg
The Revenge. They all must die. No Remorse.
FyreFly.jpg
Frye Bug lands on his freakin neck. Not the first time. Won’t be the last.
TheTeam.jpg
The Heroes Victorious. No pay, no praise, no sleep.
