Busy…

Met with Lori Tilkin last week. Fun company. So “not” Hollywood. I enjoyed it. I think it would be a blast to write the story behind a game. Not sure what will come of it but it was fun.
Meeting Dean today to start dozing through our outline on Thunder.
The contractor started remodeling their new pad on the 10th. Mel’s been working her little tail to the bone on this one. Proud of her. And their place is amazing. It’s a giant. Beautiful view. It’s gonna be sweet.
I’m working my way through a new ending on Past Tense…if all goes well I’ll send a new draft to Nicole tomorrow.

Starting to get nervous

I’ve done a boatload of work since wrapping Scarecrow and everything has ended in passes. But not just right-off-the-bat passes. Slow, work-heavy passes. The kind of passes that require me to meet with half a dozen different producers and/or execs before I get to the guy with the power to say yes…and then he passes.
I read a script that has been stilled at New Line. I forget the name. It’s a thriller and the two producers were big fans of Riddle. It’s actually a pretty good script. It has the possiblity for a very strong female lead but she doesn’t exist at the moment. Problem is, it sounds like New Line is tired of the project and that my going in would be a last ditch effort. But I can’t be too choosy. I’ve worked up a pitch and I’ll conference call with the producer’s tomorrow.
Also meeting with Lori Tilkin of Tiger Hill tomorrow. I ran into her last month at E3. Video games could be fun. No doubt I’m a big fan and now the gaming industry is spanking the movie biz in revenue.

Wes Cravan

Pitched Wes during his lunch yesterday. He slept through most of it. Kept nodding off. Patrick and I bounced back and forth with the pitch. We pitch very well together. Was fun. Not feeling a slam dunk. I did mention to Wes that I got my start with Sean. He had no comment. Odd.
Before the meeting I met Kevin Williamson. He was very cool. Very friendly. Patrick said he’d read something of mine and was talking about how good a writer I was earlier in the week. How could I not like the guy?
Hitting Larchmont with Dean and Elizabeth tonight. Most likely we’ll do beer and pizza.

Hills Have Eyes

I think we’re ready. More than ready. I’ve never prepared this much for a pitch. I’ve always sort of enjoyed the spontaneity of it all. Met Patrick at the Starbucks yesterday and again this morning. Patrick! Relax! We are ready! Pitch Wes tomorrow at the Cursed set in downtown during their break for lunch.

One year

Mel and I spent our first anniversery together. Granted we’ve been living in sin for ten years but we had fun. We tried a new joint downtown. Good food. Very snooty. It’s always fun when the Hillbillies take over a four star.
Tomorrow…or later today rather, I’m sending Patrick what I hope is our last draft of the Hills Have Eyes outline. Our pitch to Wes is this week.
