Bug Killers

About a year ago Wellman Property purchased our apartment…or rather someone who uses them as a management group purchased the apartment. Anyway, they have been horrors ever since. 48 hours ago we got a notice of fumigation meaning we all had to find hotels for three days. I don’t need this right now.

Sleepy

Don’t think I’ve worked this hard in a long time and the funny thing is, I might not see a dime from any of it. Sheesh. How exotic the Hollywood biz really is.
I pitched House of Wax Monday and I think they hated it. They told Nicole later that I pitched exactly what they told me they didn’t want. Oh well.
Wednesday I met with the guys from Red Entertainment to do what was perhaps the most interesting pitch of my life for the simple reason that I don’t speak Japanese. I pitched G9 which is based on an in development animated series slash video game. Visually it is stunning and I think I could certainly write it but there’s little doubt it would have a hefty budget based on what they have. Anyway, speaking broken English and throwing in an Oki mundi from time to time, I blew them away. Even Boesky was impressed and he’s never impressed with this stupid business.
That night we hit another of Maggie’s comedy shows and again she was the stand out. Later that evening we ended up at Pinot and drank until we were silly. Then, of course, the plethora of actors present started getting liberal so my inner Republican came out and started stomping. Think I made some enemies. Screw’em. If they are gonna pursue their acting careers through my tax-dollar-paid-for unemployment then I got a right to bitch about it.
This weekend will be Friday with the Loreys and Saturday with the Lussiers.

Getting swamped…

I pitched the writer of @thena Inc. on Monday and I think it went well. Still waiting to hear.
Mel and I watched “The Hills Have Eyes”. Lazaar called and said that Wes wanted to do a remake. Wow is that not a very good flick. Ugh, I’m not certain I want to even think about that right now.
Jim Isaac has left a couple of messages but I haven’t spoken with him yet. Not sure what he’s up to. Last I heard he had a possible werewolf movie then there were rumors that he might get in on the Resident Evil sequel…dunno. Be good to hear from him again.
Had lunch with Frankel on Tuesday. He also reps John Jerrell and the guys who wrote the coming FvsJ. He said they were hating me after Jason X came out. They were scared our flick would kill theirs. Well, they’re big boys. We all got our crosses to drag through the streets.
Today I hit the Four Seasons to meet with John Sacchi (Lion’s Gate), Marc Butan (Lion’s Gate), Steve Mitchell (Producer) and Todd Wagner (Producer) for what I hope is the last time I will have to pitch “Time Killer”. Again I think I blew them away and after talking to Nicole that seems to be the case. She said they told her I was the front runner. Cool. I could write the crap out of this flick.

Catch up…

My meeting last week with Boesky of ICM was great. I like this guy alot. He’s a no BS type and he loves video games so how could I dislike him? Spoke with him again this morning about a couple of comics he passed my way. He’s setting up a time for me to pitch the writer of @thena Inc. A very cool, comic.

And speaking of Comics, Carr D’Angelo opened a comic store in Encino yesterday. Mel, Natalie, Dean and his eldest, Chris, dropped by for the big opening.
This morning I spoke with Eric (forget the last name) about house of Wax. He told me roughly what they were looking for so that I can then come back with a pitch.
Tomorrow I go back in to discuss Ace in the Hole with the Outlaw producers.
