It’s complicated but today is the first possible day that I might see money from Jason X since I was paid for the original writing. DVD, Video (both purchase and rental), Pay Per View…all of that I get a small chunk. It’s supposed to be three months from the end of the quarter in which New Line turned in their makings. We will see. My guess is the Guild will need a number of days to then turn the check around. I know it seems silly to obsese like this but I really sort of dig getting money.
Chris Torres has quit Cunningham and got a job lawyering for a reality Girls Gone Wild type of movie. She leaves for Mexico next week and tomorrow night, Susan (Sean’s X) is throwing her a party. Should be fun.

Shuman called to say he loved Hounds of Hell and that he’d come up with some great fixes. I told him that was great but that it wasn’t broken.
I told him the deal going in. We have the story. We’re not looking for a development team. We’re looking for someone to make it. If they want to ride the Darkness wave and take another scary flick outside of Rev then here’s the story. If they have problems that is fine but Dean and I will just write it as a spec.
He didn’t know how to respond so the call ended oddly.
Later this afternoon I’m meeting with yet another ICM agent. Keith Boesky. Boesky is a former lawyer and used to be a big wig at Eidos. They made the Tomb Raider games which I love and evidently Boesky was a big part of getting that flick made. He’s now heading up the video game/comic book part of ICM. This meeting should be a blast.
In the meantime…Mel wants a new treadmill so we’re off to spend money.
Hounds to Blue Star
Dean and I pitched Jason and Lauren…well, Dean pitched them. You know, we’re best friends but I didn’t enjoy that pitch. Dean did all of the talking and when I did jump it at one point it appeared as though I was interrupting.
Look, Dean’s more successful than I am. He’s got a TV show and far more credits than me and in lots of ways he has a much gooder business mind. Still, it was a little embarrassing.
Time Killer and Wax
Met John Sacchi this morning to discuss my rewrite takes on Time Killer. Time Killer isn’t a very good script but it is an amazing idea. I think I blew them away.
Lars, another ICM agent, called about House of Wax. Someone’s doing a remake. Looks like remakes are the in thing right now. Anyway I told him to set the meeting and I’d come up with something.
The Hounds of Hell
Called Shuman over at Blue Star today. When we got drunked the other night we chatted about doing something else together. So, Dean and I are going in to pitch them Hounds of Hell on Thursday.
General Meeting with Ross Bell tomorrow. I forget who he’s with.
