I heard Derek and Garner got copies of Totem today. Once again I’m in a place where either I’ll be a hero or a moron.
We’re having dinner with the Loreys tonight. We’ve found this great place where Mel and Elizabeth shop while Dean and I down Chopin.
Can’t get too crazy though, have an interview in the morning with a fella who’s writing a book based on the Friday the 13th films.
Mel and I hit the premiere tonight. It’s creepy. I think it’ll hit the upper teens this weekend. Should be a hit for them. Hearing Patrick’s stories and knowing which parts were his and which weren’t I can see how he certainly added to the project. Course he won’t see an ounce of credit for it.
Afterwards we hit the Viceroy down on the beach and Mel got the chance to meet the cast of characters. Patrick brought his wife, Lauren. Nice lady. Pretty. When I get to know them better I will inform her that she married a geek. Nerdish but lovable. Anyway, the four of us hung out and had a pretty good time eating their food and drinking their booze.
All the producers came up and raved about the script. It’s looking good for lil’ ol’ Toddly. Of course I wasn’t aware that they hadn’t given it to Derek or Garner yet. And was baffled as to why Derek hadn’t at least read it but Patrick had a theory that Derek is protecting himself. If Garner hates it then Derek can say he hadn’t read it.
This would be a great business if robots were running it.
Well, Dean’s off to Santa Barbara with Damon and Don. That’s gonna cut in on our Quake time. We’ve started killing again of late. We’ll play for a month then move to another game or get busy with work but lately we’ve been flopping between Dark Age of Camelot and Quake deathmatch. All will be on hold until the dummy returns.
Lazar sent me an interesting little outline written by Clive Barker. It could make for a very scary movie and I think I can make it even better. I’ll prep a pitch today and tomorrow and pitch Todd Williams at Fox on Tuesday.
Had the Audi detailed and wow is it ever sweet. I’m so used to the truck that I thought I’d hate being so low to the ground but there really is nothing like slamming your foot to the floor and feeling that German monster sucked toward the asphalt.
