The TV showed up and it is a beauty. Would be even better if it would turn on. We called and they tells us that sometimes they just get shipped bad. So, the swap out happens tomorrow. We hit the Sears and bought some patio furnature and a gas grill which we should have by the end of the week.
Thursday Patrick and I go back to Dreamworks to meet with Bonnie and pitch John Fox.
We is moved in
Dean brought Chris over this morning to see the new pad. Chris happily commented that his bedroom was bigger than our apartment. We had to get rid of a bunch of stuff. The bigscreen (which had been given to us by Dean when he upgraded to Hi-Def) went to Paul Hungerford, an actor buddy or ours. Paul was more than happy to get it. The workout bench had to go. No room for it. My desk we gave to a neighbor. Our dishwasher we gave to a different neighbor (this place has one built in). And there’s no room in this place for our giant dinning room table so it is now my desk. We’re still living out of boxes and I expect we will for some time to come but the trade off is so worth it.
I love it out here. No more LA city tax. No gunfire in the dead of night. We have covered parking. No more Wellman Property the biggest group of jerkoffs in the property management business. We got a Starbucks right down the road, plenty of joints to eat and the view is amazing. We’re gonna like it here.
We bought a flastscreen Tele which gets delivered next week and we upgraded from normal Direct TV to Hi Def so we’re looking forward to watching butterflies and crap.
Tearing down the computer
The movers are here. They’re boxing up all our crap. Mel’s out at the new place with Sarah unpacking some of the junk we took out last night. We stayed there last night. Slept on the floor in front of the fireplace. It is so unbelievably quiet out there. I think we’re gonna love it.
So, my old Gateway is going to sleep for 12 hours or so. This will be the first break she’s had since I pulled her butt from that cow box two years ago. Her replacement hasn’t shown yet. Still waiting on the Alienware. According to the website it’s in stage two. Near as I can tell that means nothing.
The next time I write I will be in a different county, I’ll be paying lower insureance and there won’t be choppers buzzing our place ten times a night.
What a crock
We checked out a few other apartments and they all sucked compared to the one at the Knolls we saw Monday. So we went back and made an offer on the one they showed us. We signed all of the paper work and put down a deposit. You know they charge rent to cats these days? Fifty buck a month per cat. What a joke. I said, “Well, what about our kids?” To which the lady replied, “Oh, dear, no, we’re not allowed to charge for children.” But you can get away with charging for cats can’t you? We basically staked claim to a three bedroom apartment on the second floor with an amazing green valley view. The present renters move out at the end of the month…or so we were told.
Today we got a call telling us that the tenants decided to stay. And not only that but our backup apartment had already been rented. The only three bedrooms they had left were either on the first floor or had crappy locations. We drove back out to look at those and hated them. So we looked at some Two bedrooms. Ugh. Way smaller than the place we’re in now. But one was on the second floor and it had the same view as the three bedroom.
We took it. They should have thrown in a month’s supply of back rubs and two free blowjobs for our trouble but it was never offered. So rather than having a month to prepare, now we start the move tomorrow.
Momma’s back
Mel’s returned and we stayed in a hotel Sunday night and today I drove her out to the valley to show her some of the apartments I found. We really liked the one in Thousand Oaks. It’s a different world from LA. Hills, grass, flowers, and it smells like freaking Heaven out there. No smog, blue skies and the people are friendly. We’re gonna check out a couple other places tomorrow then get back with them.
This afternoon we went in and she met my little therapist.
