Lori emailed to say there’s been some movement on Demonik. I always liked that story. Sounds like we might start making the rounds pitching game developers soon. I put in a call to her to find out the details.
Greg Frankovich
Patrick and I went back to Lightstorm together to pitch Greg the brilliance that is Narcosis. He seemed to dig it. I’m curious what goes on there though. I’ve never heard of them doing anything outside of Cameron. I need to look into that.
Followed the meeting by having lunch with Patrick then stopped into therapy where the doc wanted to talk about my monther’s death. Ain’t ready to go there with him yet. He’ll just have to wait.
I’ve also started researching apartments out in the Calabasas area. Mel emailed me a list. If we’re gonna make it then getting out of LA will certainly be a good start. We’ve been in the same apartment for 8 years. It’s time to move on.
Glenn Williamson
We met with Glenn this afternoon. Patrick and I ran through the pitch in even more detail. Our regular pitch takes about 30 minutes so to lengthen that is saying something. Most pitches are 10 minutes tops before you lose executive attention. But for Narcosis we said, “Screw it”.
Anyway Glenn and Margerie had pretty good notes. All of which Patrick and I had considered and discarded for one reason or another but then there was one note that Margerie had that was brilliant. One of those where you go, “I wish I’d thought of that.” But she’s on our team so it don’t matter. Glenn even mentioned an underwater town that was built in Mexico and used for the movie “In Dreams”. The water didn’t seem to frighten them at all. The plan is to now go in and pitch the guys at Focus where Glenn used to work. I think he was one of the big-wigs over there.
Tomorrow night was to be a birthday party for Sean Cunningham. I was actually going to go even though I’d rather eat my own leg as have to talk to his evil girlfriend but then Sean’s brother passed away and the party was postponed. Odd though. I was actually looking forward to seeing Sean. After everything we went through I still can’t help but like the dummy.
Had my first session of therapy today. The doc seemed to think it was a problem that I get in four or five fist fights a year. Go figger. Seems to be a nice fella and I didn’t have a problem talking to him so I suppose that’s what it’s all about.
Bonnie Curtis – Dreamworks
Without a doubt the best Narcosis meeting we have had to date. Bonnie got it. She knows it’ll be a big movie and that didn’t scare her one bit. She was great to pitch to. Her excitement made us tell a better story. It’s great when that happens. I ain’t exactly been in the greatest of moods lately but that meeting picked me up. She’s setting a meeting for us to come back and pitch John Fox. I pitched Fox a take on “Fatal Frame” a year or so ago.
And we finally heard back from Glenn Williamson. He loved it. I thought he was a pass for sure. He wants us to come in on Friday to run through the story again and talk about some of his thoughts.
