Okay, I finished a lessened budget pass on G9. I sent it over to Boesky to forward to Japan. If they like it then I’ll go back to Nicole and see where we stand then.
I shouldn’t have stayed up this late. Last night was late as well. My head is pounding and I think I have a fever. Think I’ll go to bed now.
Well, I finally got the artwork for G9 from Japan. Hrmph. They had offered me several orinal works of art to accompany my pitch. I sent over a very detailed list of 15 different pieces of art. I described each piece in detail and told them I would be honored to have as many or as few as they were willing to send. They sent 10. Three I recognized from my descriptions. I’ve no clue what story the other 7 were from. With the exception of the three, they are unusable. Fortunatly there was a batch of previously done artwork which they were using to push the video game version so I did some cutting and pasting and created my visual aids.
I went in to ICM this morning to pitch Nicole. Halfway through she stopped me and told me it was way too expensive. So back to the drawing board. I’ve an idea how to cut the budget perhaps in half but it will require we go back to one of my previous ideas I’d delivered to Red Entertainment. An idea they did not like. Gonna have to go back and try to convince them.
I feel like crap, by the way. I think I’m coming down with something.
Hit the town with Jim Vallely, Dean and another of Jimmy’s friends last night. This other is evidently one of Bruce Willis’s best friends. Later we hooked up with Bill Maher and started our rounds hitting the strip clubs. Dean and I only lasted through the first club. Guess we’re getting old. Dean took the limo and I took a cab. It was just okay. I feel sorry for celebs. They live in a different world.
This morning, Dean spoke with a hungover Jimmy who had still not hit the sack. Evidently they hit every club in town before it was over.
Last week I sent a somewhat detailed outline to Geoff and Chris. We met today to discuss. They had some good notes and I’ll address as I make another pass to the outline. I think the next step will be to get Gale Ann’s opinion. At the end of the day hers is the only opinion that matters.
Also, on the way out the door this morning my second Jason X check arrived. Residual check that is. Not bad. First one finally arrived three months ago. Not sure I mentioned it. Let it be known that this is “real” money. Clearly from my waiting around you can’t count on it but it is real money. The sort of money you can live on for a long time. Will be nice to get a couple dozen other movies out there to experince these wonderful green envelopes more often.
Odd Lot entertainment. This was another general meeting. It was fine. No fireworks.
