LOTR extended version comes out tomorrow…or today rather. Get some sleep, run out to Blockbuster and I’ll be unreachable for at least 24 hours.
Thanksgiving
Did Thanksgiving at the Loreys. Stuffed.
Tomorrow we become Direct TV and TiVo users.
Nice when money shows on the day of your birth. The German money finally arrived. Riddle Me This is now officially making me money.
I finished Hegeman’s Scarecrow draft. Will messenger it to Derek tomorrow. I’m bypassing Blue Star this time.
Elizabeth’s brother is in town. We’re going out with he and the Loreys tonight. Doing some oysters at the Grove.
German money
Started the Hegeman pass today. I’ll have it ready to turn in by the end of next week.
And I just heard that Hensleigh finally signed contracts on Riddle. He signed in October but I just found out. Anyway…I should see some money soon. But I’ve one simple question. I’ve been working on this off and on for a year. Hensleigh’s been swamped prepping some Christain Slater movie but stiill. My question is…when does the option start? Does it start when I signed or does it start when Hensleigh signed? If it starts with Hensleigh then Constantin just got a free year of option. Sucks for me but I’m betting good money that’s gonna be the case.
What do I care…I got Harry Potter tonight.
Producer notes round II
Well, these aren’t just Hegeman’s notes. Clearly they are a whole new batch from everyone involved. These notes I don’t like. From the way they delivered them to me I can tell they are all second guessing how Garner will react. They want me to make changes based on what they think Garner will say. Good grief. Just let Garner read it and if he don’t like something he can tell me. Why does this business have to be so freaking complicated?
I’m sorry but I can’t address notes I don’t agree with…at least not at this level. If the money guy wants me to add a one-legged whore…well that’s different. But, I don’t want to make changes based on what they “think” Garner will think. Of course, now I’m screwed. Either way I’m the dummy. If Garner likes it they will say, “Yes, boss, but you should have seen it before we gave Farmer notes.” If Garner hates it then they will say, “I know, we tried to give him notes but he just wouldn’t listen.”
