Whoa. I’m not sure what just happened. Lunch with Riesner…went horribly wrong. Mel and I showed up to pick him up, I went to the pottie and when I came out she was crying. Dean kept saying over and over that he didn’t believe it. Mel kept asking him who said it. He started to say something about Sean then said nothing. I was lost. I’m still lost. Mel wanted to leave. Dean started crying. We left.
All the way home Mel wouldn’t tell me what was said. I’m getting pissed now.

Stressed. Money’s getting tight again. I feel guilty complaining about money…like my faith is being tested. I think Melanie is using magic or something. Seems like every time we “really” need it…every time we are a week away from running out…it always shows up. Mel’s going back to work and I guess I’ll try to find something part time. I should get a graveyard shift. Least I’ll be available for meetings and such. Hope the magic comes through this time.
But read it and weep, dreamers. I wrote a movie. It’s coming out. It cost 13 million…I made 50 thousand. And that was nearly two years ago. Next, I’ll be working at Blockbuster to make enough money to buy tickets to my own movie.

“Full Moon Dick” keeps poping up on radar. Evidently some female wrestler is being courted for a script we wrote for Keifer Southerland. We’ve gone from Chevy Chase to Stone Cold Steve Austin and pretty much everybody in between. I’m pretty much ignoring the phone calls at this point. When they call to ask for the address to send a check then I’ll take it seriously.

Hensleigh and I met at a member’s only pub where he watches football (soccer). He’s a big guy. And forceful. We hit it off. I trust the guy. I think he knows how best to make the movie. He wants to cut out all of the “Basic Instinct” stuff. He wants the movie to be more about the lead than the case. Instead of calling it Riddle Me This he suggests we call it Mad Mike or something along the lines of Dirty Harry. I’ve heard he’s a hardass but he was very cool with me. He’s probably a hardass with execs and producers. Gonna tell Nicole to go forward with Hensleigh and Constantin.

No. It isn’t. This is nothing like a movie but that’s the sound bite that keeps playing over and over on the news. This is nothing like a movie. That’s the reason we’ve never seen this plot played out in a movie. Of all the screenewriters, execs and producers in the world…no one thought of this or we’d have seen the flick staring Arnold.

Seeing the flags in every window on our street brings tears. I’m very emotional right now and screw those who are not.
